Australia: Melbourne‑based interior design firm Studio del Castillo will oversee the multi-million dollar phased refurbishment of Adina Perth between May and October this year.
Refurbishment works will be delivered in stages, floor by floor, from mid-May to mid-October 2026, with the lobby transformation scheduled for late September through to October.
Adina Perth will remain operational throughout the works.
The design team, led by Penny del Castillo, took inspiration from the local Elizabeth Quay for the lobby redesign.
“The water’s edge at Elizabeth Quay is intentionally jagged, and that idea is reflected in the herringbone flooring, which echoes the paved walkways,” del Castillo said. “Lobby carpets mirror the winding form of the Swan River, while the timber aesthetics on walls and floors nods to the surrounding wharf sheds – design choices that introduce warmth in a light, uplifting way.”
Del Castillo added that “our design direction crystallised around a core Western Australian reference point – opal – using its distinctive green as the foundation for the palette”. This colour scheme will be reflected in the guest rooms.
Dean Louis Projects and Toga Procure are also collaborating on the refurbishment.
Group chief operating officer of TFE Hotels, Chris Sedgwick, said: “The apartment‑style layout, onsite meeting facilities and easy access to major corporate headquarters make this aparthotel an ideal base for business travellers and conference delegates.
“We’ve created welcoming public spaces where guests can comfortably pause for a quick meeting or conversation. Our apartment‑style rooms also offer the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen, making it easy to prepare a simple meal, along with dedicated zones that allow travellers to clearly separate work from downtime during extended stays.”
Adina Perth features 138 one and two-bedroom apartments and studios with separate lounge/dining and work space.
